Key Worker Childcare Support FAQ
We are pleased to be able to play our part in the current situation by remaining open for the children of key workers at the front-line of the crises and for vulnerable children. The Government has published its guidance on which groups we should provide for. Full details can be found below in the additional information section.
Q1: How do I qualify for FREE Childcare?
A1: You will qualify for FREE Childcare if you are a Key Worker/ Critical Worker. Critical workers include NHS staff, police, farmers and food retail workers, who need to be able to go out to work. In order to continue to offer critical services as part of the country’s ongoing response to the virus, children of workers who form a central part of effort - such as NHS workers, police and delivery drivers - will also continue to attend school, college or childcare provider. Q2: What proof do you require from me?
A2: We would need to see some evidence of your entitlement to this provision by providing us with the following:
Q3: Are you a registered Childcare Provider? A3: We are an OFSTED registered Childcare Provider - Registration No. EY549725. Q4: What is the age of the children you care for? A4: We are registered to care for children aged 5 years to 11 years old. Your child will be cared for with the utmost kindness, love and respect by our DBS Cleared Staff who love working with children. Q5: What Childcare Service would you provide? A5: We are providing Breakfast and After School Club sessions for the children of Key Workers who are attending local Thurrock schools.

A8: The Government is working closely with local authorities to ensure that children can attend the best setting for them, and will provide transport arrangements to support them. Q9: What about during the Easter Holiday? A9: Where possible, the Government is encouraging childcare providers, schools and colleges to continue to look after critical workers’ children and vulnerable children throughout the Easter holidays. More information on our Holiday Club provision will be shared here. Q10: Can the provision be used on a part time basis or is it full time? A10: Families will be able to opt-in or opt-out to our provision on a weekly basis. Parents/Carers will be required to notify us by Wednesday of each week as to whether they still need the provision. Q11: What if my child cannot attend on a particular day/ time? A11: You are required to notify us by email (bidemi@templesprings.com) no later than 8am. This is to ensure their safety and enable us plan for the day - re catering and staff allocations. Q12: How much do I have to pay for the service A12: This is entirely FREE for you to access. We are hoping that the government will be able to support the effort as they have promised, but if not, it will still be FREE for you |
